Way Kambas National Park (WKNP) located in the Lampung Province in the southern Sumatra. Though this park widely famous by their Sumatran elephant, but more than that, the park has 406 bird species and 50 different species of mammals which many of them are critically endangered like Sumatran tiger and rhino. The landscape covers 125.621,30 ha of swamp and lowland rainforest, but the habitat of those charismatic species has been degraded by extensive logging in 1960s-1970s that also impacted to animal population in Way Kambas National Park. However, considering its uniqueness in biodiversity, this year Way Kambas National Park is appointed as part of ASEAN Heritage Park.

Day 1 Raden Intan Airport Bandar Lampung – Way Kambas Birding ( L & D )
You will be picked up in Raden Intan airport bandar lampung by our representative, then we drive to the accommodation where you will stay 3 nights at Homestay or Ecolodge, arrival at homestay or ecolodge, check in. Free program for a while, then at 3PM, we will start for birding around Way Kambas and we hope to see Sunda frogmouth, Red-crowned barbet, Black –eared barbet, Blue-throated bee eater, Scarlet headed flowerpecker, Banded kingfisher, Rufous-collared kingfisher, White-throated kingfisher, Collared kingfisher, Dollarbird, Little green pigeon, Blue-eared kingfisher, Sumatran babbler, Pin-striped tit babbler, Black-throated babbler, Ferruginous babbler, Banded woodpecker, Red-eye bulbul, Cream vented bulbul. Night birding is one of the most great experience where we will look for Large frogmouth, Gloud’s frogmouth, Sunda scop owl, Redish scop owl, Browon boobook, Malaysian eared nightjar, Large tailed nightjar. Dinner will be served at the accommodation.
Day 2 Way Kambas Full Day Birding Tour ( B, L ,D )
We will start early morning around 5 am where we will find for Bonaprte’s nightjar, Black – and-red broadbill, Malayan crested fireback, Scaly-crowned babbler, Black-bellied Malkoha, Gray-chested jungle flycatcher, Red-bearded bee-eater, Rufous-winged Philentoma, Green iora, Black-eared barbet, Raffles’sMalkoha, Banded broadbill, Black-and-yellow broadbill, Greater racket-tailed drongo, Red-naped trogon, Scarlet rumped trogon, Diard’s trogon, Malayan banded pitta, Chesnut-winged babbler, Short-tailed babbler, Orange-backed Woodpecker, White-bellied woodpecker, Buff-necked woodpecker, Buff-rumped woodpecker, Ashy tailorbid, Asian emerald dove, Sooty-capped Babbler, Fluffy-backed Tit-Babbler, Malayan Crested Fireback, Red Junglefowl, Red-billed Malkoha, Black-and-yellow Broadbill. Nights birding is available where we will look for some owls which missed in the previous day.
Day 3 Way Kambas – Way Kanan Birding Tour ( B, L ,D )
In the morning at 6 am, we will start for birding again at Way Kambas where we will look for Fluffy backed tit babbler, Dusky broadbill, Red-bearded bee eater, Blue-winged leafbird, Scarlet minivet. Lunch will be served at the accommodation. After lunch, free program for a while. Then at 2 PM, we will start again for birding at Way Kanan and also for river cruise, and we expect to see Cinnamon-headed Green Pigeon, Green Imperial-Pigeon, Brahminy Kite, Oriental Magpie Robin, Purple Heron, Blue-throated Bee-eater, Bushy-crested Hornbill, Savanna Nightjar, Malaysian Eared-Nightjar, Crested Serpent-Eagle.
Day 4 Way Kambas – Drop off to Bandar Lampung Airport ( B )
Breakfast will be served at the accommodation, then at 9 am, we check out where you will be dropped off back to Bandar Lampung airport. End of Way Kambas birding trip
